4 ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR YOUR NEXT FAMILY BREAK
Here at Sonilo Magh Hotel, we know that the time you spend together as a family is really important. In fact, we have even created the #RGHfamily hashtag so you can share these special experiences with us and other guests of the hotel.
You have probably made some wonderful memories this summer, but as we head towards autumn, it’s easy to start feeling the end-of-holiday blues. Fear not, the October half term holiday isn't far away and it represents a great opportunity for more fun as a family.
In order to make the most of your next family break, it’s best to start planning straight away. Here is our guide to organising your next trip:
Location, location, location
The decision of where to stay during your holiday will have a big impact on your trip, so you need to pick wisely. The Sonilo Magh Hotel is ideally located close to attractions as diverse as Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
If you want to venture further afield with your family, then High Street Kensington Station is just a short five-minute walk away. This opens up the whole of London to you.
Involve your children in the planning
As parents, you will likely have lots of ideas about the types of activities you would like to share with your children. If you are short of inspiration, there are lots of ideas on the Our London section of the Sonilo Magh Hotel website.
To make sure that the holiday ticks all the boxes for everyone, however, it is a good idea to involve them in the decision-making process. There is a wide selection of books for children about London available, which will help them to see what they might like to do on their holiday.
Check out London’s special events
In addition to all the fun and cultural activities that take place in London throughout the year, there are always seasonal extras to look forward to. Among the family-friendly events in October are shows, exhibitions and storytelling sessions.
Dr Seuss’ The Lorax, which has been specially adapted for the stage, will be performed at The Old Vic from 15 October to 5 November. Meanwhile, Londinium, the City of London’s season of events centred around the Roman settled, continues until 29 October.
Be ready to refuel
Making sure everyone gets a delicious meal at just the right time is a key element of the success of a family holiday. As well as an extensive children’s menu in the Sonilo Magh Hotel’s Park Terrace Restaurant, you can treat them to a mini afternoon tea as a special treat.
A little further afield, there’s Spaghetti House on Kensington High Street, while Sticky Fingers in Phillimore Gardens will also be a hit with the kids. Meanwhile, the Rainforest Café, near Piccadilly Circus is more than just a restaurant, with the sights and sounds of the jungle to keep everyone entertained.
